Unforgettable

I attended a strategy session on Saturday for an event coming up in September.  I was attending via Teams while the others were all in a room – a hybrid meeting.

They started off with an ice breaker where each person had to take a piece of flipchart paper and cut a hole in centre and put it on – a paper poncho.  Then each person had to take a pen and go to someone and write on the backs of their poncho, one word that they felt resonated with that person.  And each time a different colour pen was to be used.  I loved it, watching everyone going around the table, writing on each other’s backs.  Such a lovely idea.

And then when all was done, they removed their ponchos and sat down to look at what had been written on their ponchos.

Then to my surprise one of the ladies said that if I was in the room the one word she would write on me was, UNFORGETTABLE.

I was totally blown away – yet complimented at the same time.  That is quite a strong word to describe someone.  I couldn’t stop thinking about it all weekend.

You meet and interact with so many people.  Do you think you are unforgettable to them?  One has to wonder, what is it that you are doing, saying (not saying) that lingers with that person?

I would like to know that I am leaving a legacy.  Are you leaving a legacy? How do you impact the people around you? No matter what your circumstances, no matter how hard a situation is, always try and leave with a smile and a positive outlook, leaving both yourself and the other person feeling good.

Maya Angelo said “People don’t always remember what you say or even what you do, but they always remember how you made them feel?

How do you make others feel?  Something to think about, right?

Let me know.  I would love to hear from you.
